What to Expect
Visiting a new church can be intimidating
What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go? We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit.
Below are some frequently asked questions.
If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. You can contact our Guest Services staff at [email protected]
What’s a service like?
All of our services are identical and last about 65-70 minutes. Services are on Sundays at 11:30am, and 6:00pm at our Concord Campus.
Preaching
We preach Jesus. This means we teach from the Bible, because the Bible is all about Jesus. Often we’ll go through whole books of the Bible, verse by verse, or a sermon series on a relevant topic. The sermon usually lasts about 20-30 minutes. All our sermons are online, so you can check out all this by giving a listen yourself.

Worship
JKR music is loud, mostly Punjabi Zabur, Geet and Urdu, Hindi Hyms, Bhajans and latest Fusion Gospals and always about Jesus. God has blessed us with talented musicians who love Jesus and serve his church through original music and fresh takes on old hymns. But more than just entertainment, our music is part of the way in which we prepare our hearts and minds to hear the word and to respond to that word.

Where do our kids go?
At JKR our Children’s Ministry is much more than “childcare”.
We intentionally structure our children’s ministry to help children learn the Bible and how it relates to Jesus in an age-appropriate way. The lessons are fun and approachable and taught by committed volunteers and staff who serve Jesus by serving you and your kids.
If you are a guest,
when you arrive you will be greeted by someone from our Guest Services Team. Our team members will be happy to escort you to the appropriate room for your child, take you to the front of the line, and get checked in. At the check-in area, you’ll be greeted by a Kids Ministry volunteer or staff member who will help you register your children. You’ll be handed a sticker with your name, your child’s name, what class your child is in, and a number that identifies your child. Should your child need you during the service, the number on your sticker will appear on the lower part of the screens (or in the small boxes above them).
Our children’s ministry is broken up into the following ages:
- The Baby Place
- Ages 6 months – 2 ½
- Lil’ Kids Church
- Ages 2 ½ – 5
- Kid’s Church
- Grades K – 4 in Vacaville
Grades K – 6 in Napa - Engage (Vacaville only)
- 5th – 6th grade
(Click an age group for more detailed info)
n Security is important to us
So when you drop off and pick up your child, we’ll make sure the numbers on your stickers and your child’s sticker match before admitting or dismissing them to or from class.
Should you ever have any questions, any member of our staff or any of our volunteers will be happy to help you! Also, if you have any questions about JKR Kids before attending a service, you can always contact any of the staff or pastors to find answers to those questions.

Where should I park?
When you enter the church parking lot, someone from our Guest Service Team will be directing traffic. We have special spots reserved for our guests, so please watch for an attendant and park in our reserved area. Please follow the instructions of the parking team. We try to structure parking in a way that allows the maximum amount of people to attend our services. Please do not park in spots that are reserved by our retail neighbors.
What Should I Wear?
We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you’re wearing. In the summertime, it’s not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt. Others prefer to still put on their “Sunday best,” and that’s fine too! We think you’ll fit in no matter how you dress.
Am I expected to put money in the offering?
Offering boxes are located on the wall near the doors as you exit the sanctuary, and in other convenient locations throughout our campus. If you’re visiting with us, we don’t expect you to put money in the offering boxes. If you consider JKR your church home, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider giving. You can give by check or cash at weekend services or any time during the week when you’re on campus, or you can set up an online giving account on jeevankiroti.org.
